The shoes we choose are among our earliest forms of self expression. Shoes are the perfect marriage of style and utility, form and content. Maybe you’ve noticed the lineup of shoes at your backdoor… each pair representing a member of the family. Bright, formal, sporty, chic, scuffed, outrageous, traveled, pristine.  Or, when you kick your shoes off and they land next to your partner’s, you take in how they land. In step, in sync, in love. Shoes have tongues telling the stories of who we are as individuals. And when lined up side by side by side, they show how we fit together. These musings inspired a whole new series: Portraits by the Foot.
